Bob Allen

Following early retirement and a heart by-pass, Bob moved to the Forest of Dean with Debbie, his wife in 2003. They spent several years with their son and family building their own homes in the town of Lydney.  They have three adult married children and nine grandchildren.  Bob wrote the Weigh Up Course almost twenty years ago - and with a lot of help from friends spent several months in 2018 recording the material on YouTube.  His passion is discovering factual information that reinforces the Bible.

Introduction to Course

How Can Weigh Up be used ?

  1. To enable you in a non threatening way to check out some of the fundamental questions of life, meaning and belief.

  2. Should you be convinced.... to gain information that will enhance your own apologetic skills.  (You might need to watch more than once !)

  3. To simply recommend to a friend or neighbour when appropriate.  Start a conversation.

  4. To suggest watching an appropriate episode with a friend, to see what they think ?

  5. To gather a group in your home to watch and discuss. (Questions for groups available for download on the Resources page)

  6. You need a smart phone, smart TV or computer to view.

  7. Follow link on this web site, (Series 1 or 2) or go direct to YouTube, Weigh Up Course, Series 1 - 1,2,3,4,5,6.  Series 2 -1,2,3,4,5,6.

The Purpose of the Weigh Up Course

  1. The Course in its present form was delivered to a small gathering of people in the Forest of Dean during the second half of the year, 2018.

  2. It was always intended to be available for a wider audience if it fulfilled a need.

  3. It is intended to be an adventure, as conveyed by the picture on Home page.  It's hoped that it will be stimulating and informative.  So it's an invitation to a voyage of discovery !

  4. It is intended to help people to weigh up the information presented.  You don't need faith to come on the course, and it's not filled with loads of Bible passages, at least in the early stages.  Neither is it intended to push people for a decision with emotional or spiritual pressure.

  5. It's on YouTube so although each episode is around an hour long, you can watch a bit, come back to it when you fancy, or not if you choose.

  6. It's hopefully in a reasonably logical order, so it's best to start with episode one and work your way through. But if a subject you're interested in is dealt with on the course, you might want to refer directly to one particular episode
